    NEO EP electro-permanent magnet

NEO EP electro-permanent lifting magnets are designed for the frequent and repeated lifting of ferromagnetic materials in industrial settings. They combine simple electrical control with the safety of a permanent magnet and enable rapid handling without physical exertion on the part of the operator.
Electricity is required only for activating and deactivating the magnet. A continuous power supply is not necessary during handling, which ensures a high level of operational safety even in the event of a power cut.

      Product description

Neo EP electro-permanent lifting magnets offer an effective solution for the regular handling of sheet metal, cut-to-size parts, castings, forgings and other ferromagnetic materials. The magnet is activated and deactivated electrically via a control panel; however, holding the load does not require a continuous power supply.

This technology combines the advantages of permanent magnets and electromagnets – low energy consumption, high operational safety and convenient control without the need for mechanical switching.

On request, the magnet can be fitted with a remote control or magnetic force regulation for handling individual metal sheets.

Maximum Safety with Electro-Permanent Magnet Technology

Load lifting magnet Neo EP uses advanced electro-permanent technology, which represents the pinnacle of safety. An electrical impulse is only required for the switching on (magnetization) and switching off (demagnetization) phases. During the actual lifting and transfer of the load, the magnet does not consume any energy and holds the load purely by the force of permanent magnets. This means that even in the event of a complete power failure, the load will not drop, making Neo EP one of the safest systems on the market.

      Comfortable control without physical exertion

Unlike classic permanent magnets, which require mechanical lever switching, the Neo EP is operated simply by pressing a button. The controls are located directly on the magnet body, or a remote control can be used. This feature significantly reduces the physical strain on the operator and allows for efficient handling even in places where access to a manual lever would be complicated or dangerous.

High energy efficiency and cost savings

Because the Neo EP consumes electricity for only a few seconds during the switching cycle, its operation is extremely economical. Compared to conventional electromagnets, which must be powered throughout the handling process, the Neo EP offers a dramatic reduction in electricity costs. In addition, due to the absence of continuous current flow, the coil does not heat up, which extends the device's lifespan and enables high switching frequency without the risk of overheating.

      Material protection and precise positioning

The design of the Neo EP magnet minimizes residual magnetism after the device is switched off. This allows for very easy and clean workpiece release without unnecessary "sticking," which is especially appreciated with precision engineering parts. Furthermore, the precise and stable clamping of flat workpieces enables precise positioning on the work tables of machine tools, saws, or cutting centers, thereby minimizing the risk of damage to the edges or surface of the material.

      Robust design for demanding operations

The Magnet Neo EP is designed for use in heavy industry. Its durable body and high-quality internal components are engineered to withstand vibrations, impacts, and dust. Thanks to its compact size relative to its high load capacity, it is an ideal helper wherever high reliability is required in daily multi-shift operation. With this model, Walmag combines traditional Czech engineering quality with the most modern electronic control systems.

      Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Are your products made in the Czech Republic? Are your products made in the Czech Republic?

Yes, the entire process – from in-house development through design, production, to final assembly and testing – takes place directly in our plant in Kroměříž. This gives us full control over quality and allows us to flexibly tailor products to specific customer requirements.

What is the difference between permanent, electromagnetic, and electro-permanent systems? What is the difference between permanent, electromagnetic, and electro-permanent systems?

Permanent Magnets: Operate without electricity, activated mechanically by a lever. They are safe, mobile, and maintenance-free.
Electromagnets: Generate a magnetic field using coils powered by mains electricity. They possess immense strength, can clamp uneven surfaces, and allow force regulation, but require a constant power supply and backup sources.
Electro-permanent Magnets: Combine the advantages of both systems. They only require electric current for a fraction of a second for activation (magnetization) and deactivation. During operation itself, they do not need current, making them extremely safe even in the event of a power outage and preventing overheating.

Can your lifting magnets also be used for handling materials at high temperatures? Can your lifting magnets also be used for handling materials at high temperatures?

Conventional permanent magnets lose their strength at temperatures above 80 °C. However, for operations with higher temperatures, we offer special series (e.g. HOT lifting magnets) that can safely handle materials with temperatures up to 180 °C.

Why is it necessary to use a demagnetizer after machining? Why is it necessary to use a demagnetizer after machining?

Ferromagnetic materials retain residual magnetism after being exposed to a magnetic field (e.g., when clamped onto a magnetic chuck). This causes metal chips and dust to stick to the workpiece, which can damage tools or complicate further processing (e.g., painting, welding). Demagnetizers reliably remove this residual magnetism.

Do you provide service and revisions for your products?Do you provide service and revisions for your products?

Yes, for all our technologies, including older BUX, Walker, and Pilana brand products, we provide complete warranty and post-warranty service, repairs, overhauls, and original spare parts. We also perform mandatory periodic certifications, inspections, and load capacity testing of lifting magnets.

Do you also offer staff training?Do you also offer staff training?

Yes. As part of the delivery of our magnetic applications and large systems, we provide professional operator training to ensure that working with magnets is as efficient and safe as possible.

How is the safety of lifting magnets purchased from the e-shop guaranteed? How is the safety of lifting magnets purchased from the e-shop guaranteed?

All lifting magnets comply with the strict ČSN EN 13155 standard and operate with a safety factor of 3+. This means that in a pull-off test (the so-called Air Gap test, which simulates a real air gap/dirt in operation), the magnet can lift more than three times its declared maximum load capacity.
